About Freedom Found Nutrition
I am a Registered Dietitian with a passion for helping others find freedom in their relationship with food, peace with their body size and a renewed mindset about health and wellness. I provide nutrition therapy from a non-diet and weight inclusive approach. I teach Intuitive Eating principles through the lens of biblical truths.
I searched high and low for years for the perfect tools for my clients and residents to use to help restore their relationship with food and meet their health-related goals. A lot of the tools that I used may have worked for a period of time but they were not sustainable and they weren’t meant to be. Our bodies, especially our brains, were not meant to be on a diet- short term or long term.
These “diet tools” reinforced the message that diet culture tells us: a thinner and smaller body is better and more valuable. I strongly believe that is a lie and that lie is one of the main reasons so many struggle to maintain freedom in their relationship with food and peace with their body size.
I have discovered a therapeutic approach to nourishing our bodies that doesn’t require counting, logging or weighing our food. My approach requires time, self-compassion and support that I can provide.
My desire is to teach you how to nourish your body and your mind. I live by the principles that I teach and I have found lasting freedom through this practice. Find out more about my personal journey through my book, Taste Freedom.
I believe these principles are beneficial for everyone, but I also approach therapy on an individualized basis. I take time to understand your history with food, health challenges, and medical history in order to prioritize our goals in Nutrition Counseling.
